Energy users require transparency

Fifteen years on from the deregulation of the retail energy market in the UK, the majority of customers have never switched to a different energy supplier. And many of those have not attempted to move to a lower tariff. Energy users require transparency about the different rates and deals available to them.
The Big Six have happily exploited this apathy, making large profits from those non-switchers, which subsidise the cut-rates they offer on comparison websites to attract new customers. And the poorest customers, whose gas and electricity bills represent almost 10% of household spending, are the least likely to seek out the best prices.
